Due to the trend towards electro-mobility car makers have to deal with a large number of different powertrain concepts. Additionally current vehicles are mechatronic systems with an increasing degree of complexity. Products can only be successful on the global market when the high customer demands with respect to vehicle dynamics, vibrations and acoustics are fulfilled. Despite of the increasing complexity, less time is available for development, which often is compensated by reducing the number of prototype cycles. Thus a major responsibility lies at the virtual product development with high quality demands and predictability of the analysis and simulation results. Only by continuously enhancing simulation methods and consequent automation of procedures the challenges can be accomplished by the engineer.
